People Community Development Society

We provide support to weaker sections of society, especially in rural areas. People assisted include children and women being given support and education that are otherwise unavailable to them.

People Community Development Society is a voluntary, non-profit, rural development organization started in 2020 committed to the empowerment and emancipation of women, children, the elderly, and needy rural masses that work in Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh. Our longstanding desire is to support the underprivileged and disadvantaged members of society. We believe that awareness and education bring empowerment, and empowerment leads to sustainability. We are a charity organization that supports country women to reach economic independence. With us, women get training in manufacturing paper toys and clay products. General Health and Hygiene Camp

Our communities underwent a general health and hygiene camp, which was organized and conducted with the help of a private doctor hired for the purpose. While community members in general and women in particular were the real beneficiaries, women in particular and dalit women generally have no better access to the health problems that each one faces. There is often no time to go to the clinic, work pressure at home or on the field, and rest, which causes neglect towards personal health and hygienic conditions. Lack of interest or finances contributes to negligence by Dalit women. Fear and shyness contribute to the factor of delayed decision making. To overcome these defects in our adopted area, the Dalit General Health Women Organization conducted a free health checkup camp to make inroads into remote households for medical services. After checkups, people were given free medicines, expert advice and followup advice were also given by the doctor. The program is conducted twice this year in I mandal covering 30 villages. Since the organization is witnessing a pandemic situation, it came forward and distributed masks and medical supplies to the rural people from 30 villages. The program was a great success, and in an emergency situation, this helped the people and educated them on the safety measures that had to be taken.

Environmental Awareness Campaign

As an initiative to raise environmental awareness, the organization has conducted an environmental awareness campaign and distributed trees in 3 villages. Various groups were contacted through a door-to-door campaign. The importance of planting trees and protecting nature has been explained to the people, and they are motivated to plant trees in their surroundings. The importance of a forest and greenery was explained to people and made them understand the need and urgency to protect nature.

Food and Blanket Distribution

The organization has distributed food to the poor and the homeless in their areas of operation. In India, many homeless people live on public places like streets, railway stations and bus stops. Our aim is to feed the hungry, homeless, destitute, abandoned senior citizens, and migrant workers. PCDS works to eradicate hunger, malnutrition, and food waste. The organization feeds the hungry, homeless elderly, women, children, leprosy patients, and disabled on the streets as part of the Zero Hunger initiative. With the few resources and financial support provided by the local donors, the organization once a month fed 100 hungry homeless people and made them get food donations for lunch. The organization also distributed 200 blankets to the poor and the people who were on the streets. The program is a great success and is appreciated by government officials in the area of operation. This gave us additional encouragement and motivation to continue this project in the future..
